Kindness week continues! Each morning members of the kindness committee lead the announcements to let us know what our day will focus on. This morning Willow and Harper let us know it was Share a Smile day!! Students got two smiley stickers...one to keep and one to give away! :)
Kindness week started off on a warm and fuzzy note!! Kindness makes us feel warm and fuzzy on the inside just like a cup of hot chocolate!! BCEL students enjoyed a treat today at recess to remind students that being kind feels good! Thank you Kindness Committee and Mrs. Clapp for being so kind to us!!

At BCEL, Mrs. Hedlund's class spent time learning about animals in the fall that make/find shelter before hibernating for the winter.

BCEL's Leaping Lancer award winners for October!!! We are so proud of these Little Lancers growing leaps and bounds!!!!
Our teachers use short cycle assessments to drive instruction, set goals, and track student growth. We display results and progression in the hallways so that students can physically see their growth and take ownership of their learning! This amazing board was created by BCEL's 2nd grade team! I cant wait to see those stars move as students learn and grow!
BCEL got its annual visit from our spooooky friend Mr. Marrow and his creepy handler Ms. Dani!!! Happy Halloween from BCEL!!
Mrs. Cassow's Kindergarten scientists explored pumpkins today and used the seeds to count on their hundreds chart. It was also really fun so squish the pumpkin guts and feel the slimy seeds in your hands! Great job little scientists!
Thank you to our students, staff, parents, and neighbors for cleaning up our nature areas and school yard this week. Two of our HS students, Nathan Rivard and Kolton Riddle joined us as well.
Thank you Matt Lindauer from CISNA (Cooperative Invasive Species Management) for joining Floyd 2nd grade on their field trip to BCEL. Matt taught us about invasive plant species and guided us in beginning the removal of some.
Floyd 2nd grade had an amazing day visiting BCEL and conducting investigations in the meadow and pollinator garden.
Mrs. Wood’s class is investigating trees and what they need to survive and grow.
We hear how great Wonderful Wednesdays have been going. This Wednesday, October 26th, is the last Wednesday for session #1.

Who doesn't love a good mud puddle!!??!! Our Young Fivers certainly do!! Ms. Terrill's kids had a blast exploring in our mud kitchen today during their nature time! So goooey!!!!
Mrs. Lombards 1st grade scientists had a fun day at the Chippewa Nature Center!! They engaged in lots of learning about the Homesteaders!

We love our nature time! BCEL students are out exploring, discovering, and learning each and every day! Mrs. Lombard's 1st grade class is journaling the changes in this tree as we work our way through our seasons this year. They will revisit this same spot as the weather changes and we see seasons come and go.
Mrs. Cassow's Kindergarteners utilized our new pollinator garden as part of their seed exploration today!

BCEL is celebrating our first bunch of Leaping Lancers!! These little Lancers were recognized, for the month of September, for growing Leaps and Bounds! Students are nominated by staff members for being caught exhibiting attributes of our PBIS mission: To be Safe Respectful and Responsible. They can also be nominated for growing in personal goals, whether that is growing personally or academically. We are so very proud of these Leaping Lancers! Keep up the good work little Lancers!!!
