Today we celebrated our beloved Mrs. Fleming! Not only was it administrator assistant day but it kicked off our celebration of her retirement. All day Little Lancers showered her with cards, songs, hugs, and gifts! We even arranged for her to have lunch with her old "Lunch Bunch". We love you, Mrs. Fleming!!! Thank you for all you do for us every single day!

A big thank you to Leadership Midland and the time they gave working in the nature areas at Floyd this weekend. The students will love the new additions!

We are so fortunate to be able to go dipping--one of our all time favorite activities! CNC naturalist, Mr. Ian, leads an engaging exploration of learning the differences between an amphibian and a reptile with Floyd 2nd graders. I'm not sure who was having more fun! --Mr. Gusler

Mrs. Hedlund's kindergarten scientists at BCEL held worm races today for scientific purposes :)
What a fun way to explore these wiggly creatures!

Yesterday was the first of our visits with our student-athletes from the high school. Mr. Freeland, our athletic director, arranged for some of our athletes to visit classrooms to read books on sportsmanship or assist in an activity. Our BCEL students loved their time with them. They were total superheroes in the eyes of our Little Lancers!! Thank you, Mr. Freeland and our BCHS athletes for visiting us!! We loved having you here!!

Third graders from Mrs. Gettel’s class at Pine River said farewell to their student teacher on Friday. Miss Hatch was a wonderful addition to their class family. They wish her the very best on her future career.

This month our Board of Education, Mrs Boman and Mrs MacLachlan recognized two great Lancer Leaders, Kaylyan Zink and Grace Stern. Congratulation ladies!

Abundant sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures greeted the Pine River 4th graders each day of their Creek Week experience at the CNC. The children learned many new skills while participating in survival-themed lessons. Thank you to the incredible staff at the CNC for the warm welcome and for sharing your expertise with all of us.

Allison Rex, BCPR PTO Representative, presented the Luck of the Lancer award winner to Kate for correctly guessing the number of leprechaun hats that were hidden throughout Pine River Elementary. This indoor activity for St. Patrick's Day was in lieu of an outdoor scavenger hunt event put on by the BCPR PTO. Unfortunately, the Luck of the Lancer was not with our weather for the day of the event. Kate will receive a new bike and helmet!
