Floyd third and fourth grade students visited Grace A. Dow Memorial Library recently. They learned about the variety of items that the library has to offer. In addition to books, cds and dvds, there are board games, yard games, puzzles and more. All for free! Each student was able to pick a new book to take home at the end of the tour and activities.
Floyd students in Mrs. Korson’s third grade had the challenge of designing a way for a “boulder” to roll down a “hill” without destroying Tiny Town during science this last week.
Mrs. Clark wrapped up another lunchtime Minute to Win It for our Floyd students. The kids enjoy the friendly competition and cheering on their classmates with this monthly event.
Pine River Elementary fifth grade students completed the Egg Drop project and tested their project. In this project, students design and then create a container which can 'house' an egg and keep the egg whole when dropped from the roof of the building.
Pine River Elementary fifth grade students had perfect weather for their two day trip at Mystic Lake. Thanks to all of the chaperones and fifth grade teachers who made this trip a remarkable experience for the students.
All 3rd and 5th grade students from Pine River Elementary attended Kids' Day at the Great Lakes Loons baseball game on Tuesday, May 21. It was a wonderful day at the ballpark. We would like to thank the Dow Student Heroes Program for providing tickets. The BC/PR PTO provided the food vouchers to the 3rd grade students. Also, Great Lakes Bay Orthodontics provided all of the tickets and food vouchers for the 5th grade students.
Congratulations to our 2024 graduates who made a final walk through their elementary schools this morning as BC students.
