2nd grade students from BCEL visited Floyd Elementary today to explore the pond, woods, and vernal pools. The students demonstrated such flexibility when thunder moved us inside. With Mrs. Clarks guidance the 2nd grade students from each building met and got to know each other through some fun activities.

BCEL''s 1st grade students had a wonderful day at the CNC despite the weather! Our nature explores learned to adapt as they moved lessons inside. We love going to the CNC no matter the weather!
The kids at BCEL were treated to a building wide snow cone party this afternoon from our PTO for meeting our Color Run fundraising goal!! Way to go kids and families! It was the perfect treat on this beautiful afternoon!!
In addition to our typical nature times, some of our teachers across the district have been utilizing our nature spaces for literacy and math instruction. Pictures featured here are from Ms. Heider’s Y5’s class, Miss Pretzer’s Kindergarten class and Mrs. Korson’s 3rd grade class.
Grace Stern has been working with Mrs.Pretzer this year for the work-based learning portion of her Educational Careers class at Bullock Creek High School. Throughout this time, she has supported the behind the scenes portions of our nature program as well as worked directly with a variety of teachers and students. Last week, she planned a lesson for Ms. Pretzer’s kindergarten class that involved her peers.
Today is "Lunch Lady" appreciation day!! We absolutely love our lunch lady, Ms. Kendra!!! Ms. Kendra brings all the fun to our building: dance parties, lunch room activities, fun decorations through the lunch line
Ms. Kendra loves our little Lancers is such a special and unique way. She is always there with ice for scraps, bumps and bruises, snacks for those who need them, and a hug for anyone who will stand still.
Her love for us and our kids is second to none!

Today not only did we continue our week of teacher appreciation but we also had "Mrs. Fleming Day" where we showed our beloved Mrs. Fleming how very very much we love and appreciate all she does for us!!
Thank you, Mrs. Fleming, for not only being the face of our building but for all the boo boos you help heal, phone calls you make, problems you solve, situations you defuse, papers you file, mistakes you fix, and for all the countless other things you do for us that we don't notice. You make BCEL a better place!
