Please Welcome Ms. Hahn

The Art Department at Bullock Creek High School is happy to welcome a wonderful new addition to our staff.  Tylla Hahn visits us as a Student Teacher from Northern Michigan University.  She has submersed herself into the High School Art world seamlessly and has developed great relationships with the students that are present in Art class.  Her work ethic and devotion to keep the momentum of a creative atmosphere has already caught the attention of some amazing projects from the students.  They are deep into clay and producing self portraits in an inspired Pablo Picasso style.  Discussion and demonstrations were used to show the students what the style of cubism looks like.  The concept of a self portrait representing the student now in time made the students reflect on who they are as a person but strongly pointed out that can change down the road.  Growth and developing the whole student is important for them to be okay with change.

Tylla is a resident from Hemlock and has roots in this area.  I am so pleased that NMU opened up the opportunity for her to come back home to carry out her student teaching time.  I have enjoyed seeing the new energy of a young teacher and the collaboration is amazing.  I have enjoyed reflecting on why and how my own teaching style has developed and again points out that teaching with purpose is the only direction to go.  Our Bullock Creek Staff works very hard everyday to bring the Bullock Creek Students the best experience they can get.  The overwhelming caring and concern that is present in Bullock Creek is showing Ms. Hahn a wonderful experience that will help her develop her own successful style of teaching.
