On June 2nd from 5-7:30, BCEL/Pine River PTo is putting on our biggest event of the year...COLOR THE CREEK!! This is always such a fun event to end our school year with. This year Color the Creek is getting even more special. Mrs. Bredt will be representing the organization Riding for Ryan. Along with her family, she will be handing out free bicycle flags to anyone and everyone who would like one. These free flags make kids so much more visible as they enjoy riding their bikes! Please, visit their website for more information on the organization or to donate to their cause.https://www.ridingforryan.org/about/our-story-purpose.
We can't wait to see everyone at BCEL on June 2nd from 5-730. Make sure to stop by the Riding for Ryan booth before you leave for your free bike flag!!
Yesterday, our 2nd grade students from BCEL visited the nature areas at Floyd. They also participated in an activity with Floyd 2nd graders that was led by Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Clapp.
Mrs. Napoli summarized our day so well in a note to her parents: "Today was simply the best. We got to be wild. We spent our day in the sunshine using our imagination. We smelled the earth. We felt the breeze. We witnessed and observed marvelous animals and plants. We heard birds and crickets chirping. Nature is such a blessing, and today we truly felt that!
We’re so thankful for our adventures at Floyd Elementary!"

Bullock Creek Middle School’s Peer 2 Peer group celebrated a fantastic year with other Peer 2 Peer members from around the county. Our P2P group spent the day at Dow Diamond enjoying the beautiful weather. Throughout the year, P2P has lead a depression awareness campaign that addresses issues related to depression and mental illness. Our group planned and carried out activities throughout the school year to coincide with monthly themes as a way to convey knowledge to their peers in order to reduce stigma, raise awareness, and encourage help-seeking when needed.
Congratulations to the BCMS Track and Field teams! The boys were crowned TVC champions and the girls finished as the runner up for the second year in a row! Pictured are the meet champions and the new school record holders for the 3200 m relay!

One thing we look forward to each spring in our nature program is a visit from some interesting Herptiles (reptiles and amphibians). Ms. Allie from Chippewa Nature has been busy visiting classes at Floyd and BCEL with our special visitors.
Mrs. Diaz and Ms. Pretzer's classes recently visited the Chippewa Nature Center. They spent the morning exploring and making observations, had lunch outside, and then learned about where our food comes from.
On Friday night, BCEL students and their families enjoyed socializing and admiring samples of art work they created this year. Thank you Mr. VanCise for inspiring our students and for your work in organizing our Art Walk.
Michigan Industrial Technology Education Society hosts a State Competition each year for CTE students. So great to see all the State qualifying projects today and several Bullock Creek Projects!
